The Latest News on Armcon mixers £100,000 a year savings!

Wrexham based Morton & Jones bought their Armcon static volumetric mixer over three years ago. Since then, according to Jack Jones, thanks to the machines productivity and efficiency they have saved at least £100,000 per year in materials and wages.

Used for making around 700 concrete fence base panels and 500 fence posts a week plus edging kerbs, the Armcon Armcon volumetric mixer has proved to be a highly productive, reliable and efficient machine says Jack.

Armcon’s back up has also been swift and up to the mark with parts being sourced without the customer having to wait. “Armcon know exactly what we need.” says Jack. “It’s more economical than a rotary mixer and requires less manpower. It’s also simple to use and produces the exact quantity of concrete you want without waste.”

Would Morton & Jones buy another one? “Definitely, though we’d probably go for the bigger model. Not that we’re looking to sell. We’re happy to keep this one running for as long as we can!”

The latest news on Armcon mixers Static Volumetric mixer keeps costs down

Quick set-up proves Armcon Armcon’s worth for CPM Group

Relocating production from Shropshire to Newmains, Lanarkshire, proved no problem to Armcon customer CPM Group, thanks to the rapid turn-around that their SCD 6M-100 volumetric concrete mixer made possible. The pre-cast pipe and chamber manufacturer, who have recently achieved BSI recognition, were able to have the machine moved, installed and running within three days.
“The Armcon’s unique mode of operation, the speed of installation and commissioning and also significant cost savings on foundations and the separate aggregate storage facility clinched the deal.” Says CPM Group MD, Mike Stacey.

In its new home, the machine feeds two casting machines, one making pipe and the other manhole chambers. The SCD 6M-100 offers a 6m³ materials capacity with a potential output of 22m³ per hour. “It’s very good,” says Mike. “Its reliable, it produces a consistent mix and it offers very good control of cement content.” It is reported that the machine is producing concrete that easily exceeds the BSI requirement for crush while working to minimum cement content in the mix.
